The ChargeSwitch NoSpin Plasmid Micro Kit provides centrifuge-free microprep plasmid purification that is not only ideal for automation but is adaptable to the KingFisher Flex Purification System. The novel NoSpin reagent causes bacterial cell flocculation and allows cells to be pelleted without the need for automation bottlenecks like centrifugation. This kit includes all the necessary reagents for 0.5–1 mL overnight culture samples with a typical yield of up to 5 μg and requires the use of a magnetic accessory or automation system such as the KingFisher Flex system. • Provides centrifuge-free purification • Avoids introduction of enzymatic contaminants for better results • Optimized for automation • Ideal for use on the KingFisher Flex system Performance improvements This ChargeSwitch NoSpin Plasmid Micro Kit workflow has been adapted to the KingFisher Flex system to allow for purification of 96 samples in about half the time it takes to perform manually. The use of this automated platform results in better performance of the workflow for increased yield (3-fold), purity, and integrity (supercoiling increased from 50% to 90%) (see figures).
